Entertainer | If anyone is to be found spontaneously breaking into song and dance, it is the Entertainer personality type. Entertainers get caught up in the excitement of the moment, and want everyone else to feel that way, too. No other personality type is as generous with their time and energy as Entertainers when it comes to encouraging others, and no other personality type does it with such irresistible style.
Motivations | ESFPs live in the moment, enjoying what life has to offer. They are especially tuned into their senses and take pleasure in the sights, sounds, smells, and textures around them. ESFPs like to keep busy, filling their lives with hobbies, sports, activities, and friends. Because they'd rather live spontaneously than plan ahead, they can become overextended when there are too many exciting things to do. An ESFP hates nothing more than missing out on the fun.

Although they are characteristically fun-loving, ESFPs are also typically practical and down-to-earth. They are grounded in reality and are usually keenly aware of the facts and details in their environment, especially as they pertain to people. They are observant of others and their needs, and responsive in offering assistance. ESFPs enjoy helping other people, especially in practical, tangible ways.
Handling Conflict | ESFPs do not handle conflict well at all. They take any sort of criticism very personally, and consider it to be a general indictment of their character. They may react with anger and harsh words which they would later like to take back. ESFPs would do themselves a favor if they would come to realize that criticism can be looked at constructively, rather than destructively. If they can hear criticism without feeling personally threatened, the ESFP will have come a very long way towards greatly improving the strength and health of their relationships.
Six Traits | Bold – Entertainers aren’t known for holding back. Wanting to experience everything there is to experience, people with the Entertainer personality type don’t mind stepping out of their comfort zones when no one else is willing.
Original – Traditions and expectations are secondary to Entertainers, if a consideration at all. Entertainer personalities love to experiment with new styles, and constantly find new ways to stick out in the crowd.
Aesthetics and Showmanship – Not stopping at mere outfits, Entertainers inject artistic creativity into their words and actions, too. Every day is a performance, and Entertainers love to put on a show.
Practical – To Entertainers, the world is meant to be felt and experienced. Truth is stranger than fiction, and Entertainers prefer to see and do than to wax philosophical about “what-ifs”.
Observant – With all this focus on the here and now, on doing and acting, it makes sense that Entertainers are naturals when it comes to noticing real, tangible things and changes.
Excellent People Skills – More so than things though, Entertainers love to pay attention to people. They are talkative, witty, and almost never run out of things to discuss. For people with this personality type, happiness and satisfaction stem from the time they spend with the people they enjoy being with.
appearance
hair: black
eyes: blue
height: 6'3"
build: muscular
features: slight glow to eyes, cross scar on left cheek
Description | Zack is a tall, well built young man that looks older than he really is. He has long hair that is swept back into hedgehog-like spikes, with only one thread of hair hanging over his forehead. His eyes are bright blue, and have the signature "mako glow" of an individual that's been exposed to Mako. He can typically be found wearing his SOLDIER uniform: a black, sleeveless one piece with a belt that serves doubles as a harness for both his shoulder armor and the magnetic clamp for his sword.

He carries with him the Buster Sword, a massive hulk of 80 pounds of folded steel that he swings around like it's made of nothing. This was handed down to him from his mentor, Angeal Hewley. He cares it around on his back, and only uses the blunt end to attack, out of respect for his mentor, who rarely even used the sword in the first place.
First Impressions | Zack is a very lively individual, who seems incapable of standing still. He has a big heart, and always willing to help out others, but is also a bit of a flirt, and a bit of an airhead. He can also seem a bit intimidating at first glance, given how tall he is and how he's built like a brick, but he quickly proves to friendly individuals that he's a kind soul.
history
War Against Genesis
Zack was a 2nd Class SOLDIER before the conflict against Genesis began. He followed his mentor, Angeal Hewley, to Wutai in an effort to bring the AWOL SOLDIER back in, only to have to witness Angeal abandon Shinra too. While trying to find both SOLDIERs, Zack had been promoted to 1st Class, something that had always been his dream, but now felt shallow. He felt like he had been promoted out of necessity, rather than on his own merit.

Genesis is found to have an army of his own duplicates, which carry out multiple attacks against Midgar. During once such attack, Zack teams up with the legendary SOLDIER Sephiroth, a man he admired like so many others. Together they discovered that Genesis was the subject of experimentation that led to his current state of mind, and Angeal was also subject to the same experimentation.

During the confrontation that followed with Angeal, Zack fell through the Sector 5 plate, landing in a garden growing in the middle of a church in the slums. Here, he met Aerith, a young woman that tended the flowers. They got along almost immediately, and while Zack had to run back into the action, he promised Aerith that he would keep in touch.
Genesis Defeated?
Genesis continues his assault on Midgar, and Zack is called back to aid in the defense of the city. During the fighting, Angeal meets up with him, agreeing to team up to defeat Genesis. Angeal flies him back to the Shinra building, where Sephiroth explains that Hollander was behind the experiments, and his belief that the scientist may be after Professor Hojo in retaliation for being more successful than him.

The fighting escalates from there, and Angeal takes Zack to the heart of it, where he deals with a rogue summon brought out by Genesis while Angeal fights the other lost SOLDIER. After defeating Bahamut Fury, however, neither Angeal nor Genesis are anywhere to be found.

Genesis and Hollander are tracked down to Modeoheim, and Zack is sent off on a mission to bring in the two of them along with Tseng. He's also sent there with fellow country boy Cloud Strife, and infantryman that he instantly bonds with. On the way, they discover a Mako Excavation Facility that Zack infiltrates, where he finds Genesis threatening Hollander for not being able to fix his genetic degradation brought from the experimentation done on him. Hollander runs off, while Zack confronts and seemingly defeats Genesis.
Death of Angeal
Chasing after Hollander, Zack finds him and Angeal in an abandoned bath house. He learns Hollander used the late Gillian Hewley as a test subject for Project G, or "Project Gillian", and being Gillian's son, Angeal has gained the powers of Jenova as a result. Unable to live with her actions, she had killed herself, where it had seemed that Angeal had been the one to kill her before.

Hollander attempts to insist that Angeal is the perfect soldier, but Angeal sees it differently, calling himself the perfect monster. He fuses with one of his monstrous copies, becoming Angeal Penance, and forcing Zack into a fight. He's reluctant to do so, but he still gives it his all, leaving Angeal barely alive after.

Angeal hands the Buster Sword to Zack, telling him to remember his dreams and honor to be a true member of SOLDIER. Distraught over the death of his mentor and friend, Zack finds comfort in the arms of Aerith, strengthening their relationship. As one of the last First Class SOLDIER members, and with Genesis War considered over, Zack succeeds Angeal's role as the emotional heart of the organization.
On the Path to Nebilheim
In the early summer, Zack is sent to Costa del Sol to rest, with Cissnei watching him. His vacation is interrupted by an attack by Genesis Copies, the first salvo of a new round of conflict. With the help of a secret traitor within SOLDIER, Director Lazard himself, the copies break Dr. Hollander out of imprisonment in Junon. Zack attempts to stop him, but arrives too late, something that earns him some teasing from Sephiroth, who allows him to return to Midgar to see Aerith, as it would likely be some time before he saw her again.

Midgar has been under attack from hordes of monsters that have escaped (or perhaps set free, according to Kunsel) from Hojo's lab, but an Angeal copy has protected Aerith until Zack's arrival. The monster made sure her and Zack were safe, before flying off with a howl.

Zack stays by Aerith's side for some time, helping her build a cart to make it easier for her to sell flowers around Midgar. He is soon called away to the next mission to Nebilheim, though he promises Aerith he'll come back, and makes sure Tseng will watch over her while he's gone. Before leaving, Sephiroth tells Zack that there is a strong chance he may leave Shinra, leaving Zack at a loss as to how to respond.
abilities
SOLDIER 1st Class | Like all those deemed worthy of joining the ranks of SOLDIER, Zack has been genetically reinforced and infused with Mako, making him stronger, faster, and infinitely more durable than a normal human, and are distinguishable from them by the faint glow their eyes have. It’s what allows Zack to swing around 80 pounds of solid folded metal like it’s just a wooden stick, and has him running hard and taking more hits compared to the average human.
Digital Mind Wave (DMW) | SOLDIERs are encouraged to reflect on their past experiences and current emotions in order to improve their battle prowess. Zack’s emotions and his bonds to others are so strong that they come out in mini bursts of power, or limit breaks. He has one for each of his strongest bonds, though one of those would not be accessible at MoM for the obvious reason of summoning a Shinra helicopter for an airstrike would be a little impossible.
DMW Skills |
❖ Chain Smash: A flurry of multiple, not very strong (or coordinated) sword strikes.
❖ Octaslash: Based after Sephiroth’s own attack skill; a series of eight slashes ending with bringing the sword down hard on the enemy.
❖ Rush Assault: Zack abandons using a sword entirely, instead rapidly pummeling an enemy with his fists, leaving them stunned briefly.
❖ Lucky Stars: Gives Zack the chance of hitting harder for a brief time.
❖ Healing Wave: Taking after his girlfriend, Zack takes a moment to just steadily heal up any damage, taking up to 20 seconds for a full heal.
❖ Meteor Shots: A magical attack that allows Zack to call down meteors over an area.
Squat King | Zack has so much energy, he’s known throughout Shinra for his ability to do squats just for the heck of it. In MoM, Zack’s squatting power will help him buff up his other abilities. For every ten squats, he’ll gain a buff up in strength. So ten squats, his power goes up by 1.5, twenty his power is doubled, thirty it’s tripled, ect, up to a maximum of a hundred squats. The power buff only lasts for the extent of one attack, before being reset.
relationships
Sephiroth
Sephiroth is a hero of a level that Zack strives to be, and though he's reluctant to actually say it to his face, Zack looks up to him very much. While their relationship was rough at first, because it seemed as if Sephiroth was pushing off things he didn't want to do on him, but he came to respect him after learning that having to fight people he considered friends was very difficult for him.

The fact that Sephiroth may abandon Shinra is difficult for Zack to process, but he will never not think of him as a friend regardless of his choices.
Tseng
Tseng is a member of the Turks that Zack has had to work with multiple times. Stoic and hard to read, it doesn't keep Zack from acting like himself around the man. On rare occasions, it cracks Tseng's hard exterior, dragging a smile out of him.

Zack trusts him implicitly, relying on him to look after Aerith while he's away on mission. He has no idea how seriously Tseng takes that.
